The shut-down of Omaha, Nebraska's Franklin Community Federal Credit Union, raided by federal agencies in November 1988, sent shock waves all the way to Washington, D.C. $40 million was missing. The credit union's manager: Republican Party activist Lawrence E. "Larry" King, Jr., behind whose rise to fame and riches stood powerful figures in Nebraska politics and business, and in the nation's capital.

In the face of opposition from local and state law enforcement, from the FBI, and from the powerful Omaha World-Herald newspaper, a special Franklin committee of the Nebraska Legislature launched its own probe. What looked like a financial swindle, soon exploded into a hideous tale of drugs, Iran-Contra money-laundering, a nationwide child abuse ring, and ritual murder.

Nineteen months later, the legislative committee's chief investigator died - suddenly, and violently, like more than a dozen other people linked to the Franklin case.

Author John DeCamp knows the Franklin scandal from the inside. In 1990, his "DeCamp memo" first publicly named the alleged high-ranking abusers. Today, he is attorney for two of the abuse victims.

Using documentation never before made public, DeCamp lays bare not only the crimes, but the cover-up - a textbook case of how dangerous the corruption of institutions of government, and the press, can be. In its sweep and in what it portends for the nation, the Franklin cover-up followed the ugly precedent of the Warren Commission.

During 16 years in office, former state Senator John DeCamp was cited, even by his enemies at the World Herald, as one of the most effective legislators in Nebraska history. A highly decorated Vietnam War veteran, in 1975 he initiated Operation Baby Lift, which evacuated 2,800 orphaned Vietnamese children. He practices law in Lincoln, Nebraska, is married, and is the father of four children.

It takes a courageous person to write a courageous book. Senator John W. DeCamp was just such a person. DeCamp, a personal friend of CIA Director Bill Colby, could have taken the easy way out and ignored the pedophile ring that he unearthed in Omaha, Nebraska. He could have turned a blind eye to injustice and let the men in power get away with sexually abusing and in some cases even killing their prey. But, being a savvy lawyer and a decorated Vietnam vet, he couldn't be passive. So DeCamp put it on the record, not once but twice.

The Franklin Cover-up isn't easy to stomach. Indeed, when you finish the book you have two choices: (1) pretend it didn't happen and let the rich and the famous continue to prey on the young and the innocent or (2) get hopping mad and do something to protect the most vulnerable in our society.

Mr. DeCamp is one among a few who decided not to participate in the cover-up. What was going on throughout the 80's and 90's in Nebraska, across America, and beyond is appalling. Once you know about the extent of the complex human trafficking ring, you cannot un-know it. Most decent humans can't shut up about it at that point. Just as complex was the cover-up that followed a national outing of what was really going on at Franklin Credit Union and who was involved.

John DeCamp names the names. He talks to the people that need to be talked to, and the result is the most complete and thorough documentation of what happened in Nebraska and beyond. If you want to truly understand the evil underbelly of America and the things that are hidden in plain sight and just under the surface, you must read this book. You will never see things the same again.

He gives alot of foot notes, sources and information to back up the first hand knowledge and experience he has in the deviancy and cover up done by our govt to hide their perversions. Its probably the only reason the author is still alive!

Before I bought this book, I took some time to read through other Amazon customer reviews. I wanted to make sure my review was unique. I appreciate everyone's comment regarding John DeCamp's book. This is essential reading if you consider yourself an American Patriot. It's essential reading if you love America and you don't want to see her go further and further down the drain. This book had to hold back some punches because of the law's the Author is bound too. Based on his limitations, he has helped bring light into a nest of vipers. This book made me angry, sick to my stomach, and much more it was a call to do something. The end of the book with DeCamp's conversations with Bill Colby offer what to do. The evidence John DeCamp could present will make you think. What else is being hidden to preserve "the system"? I can only speculate a staggering amount of information. For the skeptics and debunkers, I've already seen your reaction *yawn*. Unfortunately, this isn't a conspiracy theory but the documentation proves that true evil secretly runs D.C. and the world. If you buy this book, take the time to read it closely and check your disbelief at the door before you crack the cover. It will also help you understand why militarization of law enforcement (local, State, and Federal) is a very bad current and growing practice in our cities, towns, and States. Read about the slaughter of Gordon Kahl. Get another view point on the Militia and patriot movements in this country. Fellow subscriber, you do yourself no favors by only reading the newspaper or watching the evening news. Your neighbors, family, and friends don't have all the answers either. DeCamp illustrates how the media can be your best buddy and worst enemy in the same breathe. He also shows how most journalist go along with the crowd or have no guts to find and report the truth to the public. I've learned with hard core Debunkers and skeptics there will never be enough evidence to coax them out of their world of denial. This book should scare the hell out of a debunker or skeptic. For a truth seeker, it may ask more questions than answer.

Buy this book. Reader beware this is truly how powerful people operate. Just because someone has money doesn't mean they are honest, pillars of the community. This book proves they tend to be the lowest form of life you can find. John DeCamp keep writing. I hope you don't you meet with any accidents. I hope you live to fully expose this case for the American public, and for the world. Thank you for your courage and service to this country.

Anyone who values objectivity and doesn't go chasing wild theories should have no problem seeing what's really at play here. If even 50% of what's backed by hard evidence in this book is close to correct (and I can assure you, if you finish the book there's little chance you conclude otherwise) we all as human beings have a duty to at least discuss it. If you are a journalist, with what's happening with Epstein right now you have a duty to objectively cover this story. There are far too many parallels to ignore.

How the perpetrators exposed in this book can/could live with themselves is beyond me. I suppose it goes without saying that this book is not for the fainthearted! The abuse and torture that the victims had to go through is described in vivid detail and the fact that those very same victims were the ones who were thrown in jail for "perjury" (i.e. telling the truth) will disturb any sane person with a conscience. The book itself is well-written and easy to follow. This is a story that needs to be told and never forgotten. Do not allow this to happen/continue in your town...
